Safe medication disposal can be done right at home! 🏠Deterra pouches make it easy to dispose of old or unused medication. Just put your medication in the pouch, add warm water, seal the top and shake it. The pouch makes the medication safe so it can go in your trash with no harm to the environment! How do I safely store used sharps? The best option is to store used sharps in a clean, hard plastic container with a screw-on lid. Things like an empty laundry detergent or bleach bottle work great! Put your used sharps in the container needle first, and secure the cap tightly.Make sure you label the container to avoid confusion and store out of reach of children and pets.Fill the container about ⅔ of the way so the cap still fits tightly. Once your container is ⅔ full, you can dispose of it at a local pharmacy that accepts them such as Schmidt & Sons in Tecumseh or Hudson Pharmacy.
