Safely disposing of unwanted, unused, or expired medications can prevent them from getting into the hands of people who shouldn’t have them. Half of the adults in Lenawee County who misuse prescription medications got them from a friend or relative. Proper disposal can also prevent the toxic effects on our environment that can take place if drugs aren’t disposed of correctly.
